Lingual Braces in San Antonio
Fixed braces bonded to the back of your teeth. Nobody sees them, not in meetings, not in photographs, not up close.
The braces nobody knows you are wearing
Lingual braces sit on the tongue side of your teeth instead of the front. The brackets and wires do the same work as conventional braces, but from behind, so the visible surface of your smile stays completely clear.
They are the most discreet fixed option in orthodontics, and they are genuinely uncommon. Patients regularly tell us Cochran Orthodontics was the only practice they could find in San Antonio offering them.
"This is the only place I found that offered incognito braces, here in San Antonio."

Why patients pick lingual
Invisible from every angle you care about
Not less visible. Not tooth-coloured. Actually behind the teeth, so there is nothing to see from the front.
Fixed, so treatment never pauses
No trays to take out and forget. The appliance works every hour of every day.
Works for adults in visible jobs
The reason most of our lingual patients choose it. Presenting, teaching, selling, being photographed.
Same financing as any other option
Payment plans from $149 a month, 0% interest in-house financing for up to 30 months.
What to expect in the first two weeks
We would rather set the expectation properly than have you surprised.
- Speech. Most people have a slight lisp for a few days to a couple of weeks while the tongue adapts. It settles.
- Tongue comfort. The tongue takes a little time to get used to hardware it has never met. Wax helps in the early days.
- Cleaning. Brushing takes a bit longer. We will show you exactly how at your bonding appointment.
If lingual is not right for you, we will say so, and clear ceramic braces or clear aligners are usually the next step to consider. Want to understand the treatment first? Read what are lingual braces.

Common questions
Are lingual braces really invisible?
From the front, yes. The brackets are bonded to the back surface of the teeth, so there is nothing on the visible side of your smile.
Will lingual braces affect my speech?
Most patients notice a slight lisp for a few days up to a couple of weeks while the tongue adapts to the brackets. It resolves for the large majority of people.
Do lingual braces cost more?
Lingual treatment typically costs more than metal braces because the brackets are customised and the technique is more demanding. The same payment plans apply, from $149 a month with 0% interest financing for up to 30 months. See the braces vs lingual braces cost comparison.
Can anyone get lingual braces?
Not every case suits them. Very short teeth or certain deep bites can make bonding on the inside surface impractical. Dr. Cochran will tell you at the free consultation whether your case is a good candidate.
Is this the same as incognito braces?
Incognito is one brand of lingual braces. Patients often use the brand name for the treatment generally. Ask us which system your case would use.
