Adult Orthodontics in San Antonio
Adults are now a large share of orthodontic patients, and the discreet options are genuinely good. You are not too late.
Treatment that fits an adult life
Adult teeth move. Bones are denser than a teenager's, so some cases take longer, but the mechanics are the same and the results are the same.
What is different is what adults need from the appliance. Most of our adult patients care about how visible treatment is and how much it disrupts work. That is why we carry lingual braces, ceramic brackets and three aligner systems rather than one default option.
We also see a lot of retreatment: people who had braces as teenagers, stopped wearing the retainer, and watched things drift back. That is common and it is fixable.

Common questions
Am I too old for braces?
No. Healthy teeth and gums move at any age. We treat patients well into their fifties and sixties. What matters is gum health, not birth year.
Will people at work notice?
With lingual braces, no. They sit behind your teeth. With ceramic brackets or clear aligners, far less than you expect.
I had braces as a teenager and my teeth moved back. Can that be fixed?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons adults come in. Retreatment is often shorter than the original course. Then a permanent or clear retainer keeps it that way.
How long will adult treatment take?
It depends on the case. You will get a realistic estimate for your bite at the free consultation.
