Clear Braces in San Antonio
Ceramic brackets the colour of your teeth. Same treatment as metal braces, far less obvious in the mirror and on video calls.
What clear braces actually are
Clear braces work exactly like traditional braces. Brackets are bonded to the front of each tooth and a wire moves them into place. The difference is the bracket material: ceramic instead of stainless steel, shaded to sit against your enamel rather than stand out against it.
From a conversational distance most people will not notice them. They are the option adults choose most often when they want fixed braces without the metal.
Dr. Cochran plans every case himself and will tell you at the free consultation whether clear brackets are a good fit for your bite, or whether lingual braces or clear aligners would suit you better.
Why patients choose clear braces
Barely visible at conversation distance
Ceramic brackets are shaded to blend with enamel, so photos and video calls look like photos and video calls.
Fixed, so nothing depends on willpower
Unlike aligners, clear braces are working every hour of the day. No trays to remember, no trays to lose.
Handles cases aligners cannot
Rotations, significant crowding and bite correction are often more predictable with fixed brackets than with trays.
Same payment plans as metal
From $149 a month with 0% interest in-house financing for up to 30 months.
Clear braces or clear aligners?
They solve the same problem in different ways, and the honest answer depends on your bite and your habits.
- Clear braces stay on. Better for complex movement, and nothing to lose or forget.
- Clear aligners come out to eat and brush, but only work while you are wearing them, and most plans need 20 to 22 hours a day.

Common questions
Do clear braces stain?
The ceramic brackets do not stain. The small elastic ties that hold the wire can pick up colour from coffee, tea, red wine and curry, and those are changed at every adjustment visit, so any discolouration is temporary.
Do clear braces take longer than metal braces?
For most cases the treatment time is comparable. Dr. Cochran will give you a realistic estimate for your specific bite at the free consultation rather than a generic range.
Are clear braces more expensive?
Clear brackets cost a little more than metal, but the same payment plans apply, starting at $149 a month with 0% interest in-house financing for up to 30 months. Exact pricing comes from your consultation.
Can teenagers get clear braces?
Yes. Teens often choose ceramic on the upper teeth where they show most. Some prefer metal so they can pick colour bands. Both are available.
